Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.

How much trouble can you possibly get into just stopping to use a restroom?

As it turns out, an awful lot. Bunny and co are supposed to be keeping a low profile, but nature calls and ironically, one of their party has a hard and fast rule about not answering that call while surrounded by nature. This is how they end up in the wrong bar, surrounded by the wrong people at the wrongest of wrong times. The local right-wing militia has a big week planned, and Bunny and the boys have inadvertently crashed the party. Before they know it, they’re in a desperate fight for survival against a bunch of people who refuse to believe they’re not who they think they are.

Meanwhile, the Sisters of the Saint have more than enough troubles of their own. A certain cartel is very angry at them and is pulling out all the stops to make their point. It all adds up to one hell of a tricky few days. But then, as a great man once said: life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.

Other Plans is book four in the McGarry Stateside series by Caimh McDonnell. McDonnell’s work has been praised for bringing a fresh voice to the thriller genre. He deftly combines a finely honed comic sensibility with pulse-pounding action which has made his books Amazon bestsellers the world over.

This audiobook edition also features the Other Plans Easter Egg outroduction, where Caimh discusses the process behind writing Other Plans, his favourite scenes and characters, plus the book's origin story, and where the story might be heading next.

Bunny and some new clothes az

Ah, the Bunnyverse/Bunniverse has travelled across the pond to America! I love the characters in the Dublin books and was a little sad to not have them packed in the luggage of Bunny, would be a tight squeeze as he travels very lightly! But the Stateside books give a chance for some new, just as loveable, characters. I love the sisters, Smithy etc., so I was worrying unnecessarily. If available, I choose the audiobook every time. If you’ve heard these you’ll know what an excellent job the reader does. ‘Other Plans’ does not disappoint. Bunny is the same man we have all fallen in love with. You can drag the man out of Dublin, but Bunny treats everyone on their merits. It matters not that he’s in a ‘strange’ place. Plenty of laugh out loud moments, as you would expect. I’m trying to review this book without giving any hints or spoilers. I can say these books are up to the high standards of the Dublin books and a great read, or listen in my case. Bunny and the sisters loose in the USA, what could possibly go wrong? I’ve heard rumours of a final Stateside book to finish the Simone story. I hope this becomes a reality and would wish for a happy ending but fear otherwise. I highly recommend these Stateside books and if they make a film there’s only one man born to play Smithy. I ‘see’ the excellent Peter Dinklage whilst listening to the books. I highly recommend ‘Other Plans’ and the wonderful author who has given some variety to my reading genres. No longer just horror in my library but laughs with an actual story to boot. I eagerly await the next book. Enjoy!

Probably my least favorite of all of his books however having said that its still a 5 star rating. The worst of the very best is still better than 99% of the shite out there!

Bunny and co never fail to delight. Another brilliant book by the equally brilliant White Haired Irish man!
